Trying Something New…Please Read!!

In accordance with the grand tradition of New Years, I decided to make a resolution.  It was fairly simple and straightforward: Write more.  But in accordance with the grand tradition of my life, I decided to make it unnecessarily complicated and potentially embarrassing.

Why am I telling you all this?  Because now you are a part of my New Year’s resolution too.  Yes, you!  I have decided that “Write more” means that each day in the coming year I will complete one writing prompt a day and post it here.  

Here’s where you coming in.  Because I don’t just want this to be about me.  I want all you beautiful and talented people to be involved as well!

Each day at approximately 7 a.m. EST, I will post a creative writing prompt with the hopes of completing it some time that same day and submitting it for your reading pleasure (or, more likely, displeasure).  I will also post any and all submissions I receive from you folks as well.

You can submit any time you like and as much, or as little, as you want to.  

Please don’t be afraid to submit anything you write!  I am by no means a terrific writer and in fact I’m hoping that through this exercise and lots of helpful criticism from my fellow Tumblrians, I can improve.  I’ve never done anything like this before and I’m extremely nervous, so I’m actually being completely hypocritical by telling you not to be afraid.  And now I’m rambling, but I hope you get my point!  I am just as scared/nervous/excited as anyone else to post my writing online, but I’m trying to be brave and I hope you will too.

Prompt #1 will be posted on January 1st.  So get ready and stay tuned!!
